About Miyajima

How long does it take to walk to Itsukushima Shrine?
About 15 minutes’ walk.
Until what time is Itsukushima Shrine illuminated at night?
From sunset to 11pm. (Illuminations may be unavailable when events are taking place at Itsukushima Shrine.)
Is it possible to walk under the Torii shrine arch?
The Torii shrine arch may be reached on foot, depending on the height of the low tide on the day. Please contact us for details.
What are the visiting hours for Itsukushima Shrine?
The shrine opens at 6:30am and closes between 5:00pm and 6:00pm, depending on the season. Please ask at the front desk for details.
How long does it take to walk to the aquarium?
It takes about 30 minutes on foot from the hotel. We can also arrange a taxi (around 10 minutes’ trip).
How can we get to the ropeway (aerial lift)?
It takes about 30 minutes on foot from the hotel. We can also arrange a taxi (around 10 minutes’ trip).
What are the evening times for the houseboat, and how much is the fare?
Houseboat times are 17:55/18:35/19:15/19:55/20:35/21:15. Boat trips take around 30 minutes, and fares are 1,600 yen for adults and 800 yen for children.
Where is the best place to eat anago (conger eel) rice bowl?
We recommend “Mametanuki” in the shopping district, “Wada” in Machiya Dori, and “Ueno” in Miyajimaguchi.
What souvenirs of Miyajima do you recommend?
We recommend “Momiji Manju”, rice paddles, chikuwa fishcakes, and oysters.
Can we sightsee by car?
Since many roads are closed to vehicle access, and sightseeing facilities lack parking areas, Miyajima is best suited to sightseeing on foot.
Are there any convenience stores in Miyajima?
No. Please use the 7-Eleven on the wharf side of Miyajimaguchi.

About Access

If we come by car, what should we do?
If you load your car onto the ferry, you can use the hotel’s free parking area after you arrive in Miyajima. However, we recommend using the general charged parking area on the shore of the mainland (approx. 2000 yen per night). If you wish to load your car onto the ferry, transport for a regular vehicle will cost 3,380 yen for a round trip (including the driver’s fare).
How do we get to JR Hiroshima Station from Miyajimaguchi Wharf, and how long does it take?
It takes around 5 minutes’ walk from Miyajimaguchi Wharf to JR Miyajimaguchi Station, and then around 30 minutes by train to JR Hiroshima Station.
How do we get to Hiroshima Airport from Miyajimaguchi Wharf, and how long does it take?
It takes around 40 minutes to Hiroshima Station, and then around 50 minutes from Hiroshima Station to the airport via limousine bus (1,300 yen per one-way trip).
How do we get to Iwakuni Kintaikyo Airport from Miyajimaguchi Wharf, and how long does it take?
It takes around 25 minutes by JR to Iwakuni Station, and then around 20 minutes from JR Iwakuni Station by the airport connection bus. Please be aware that buses are infrequent. You can also use a taxi.
What is the ferry schedule?
The last ferry to Miyajima departs at 22:42, and the first ferry to Miyajimaguchi departs at 5:45am. Ferries operate at 15-minute intervals in the daytime. *Please be aware that ferries are infrequent in the morning and evening. For a detailed schedule, please check the following pages. JR West Miyajima Ferry, Miyajima Matsudai Kisen Tourist Ship. Fares on both services are 180 yen per adult one-way trip (junior high school age and above) and 90 yen per child (elementary school age).

About Hotel

What are the check-in and check-out times?
The check-in time is 15:00, and the check-out time is 11:00.
Can you store our luggage before check-in, or after check-out?
Both are possible. After check-out, we can store your luggage as long as it is during the same day.
Are the guestrooms and the hotel interior non-smoking? Is there a smoking space?
Smoking is prohibited in all parts of the guestrooms and the hotel interior. However, we provide a smoking space at the rear of Komo Le Bi (the lounge) on the first floor.
Can the guestrooms be accessed by wheelchair?
We are very sorry, but our guestrooms are not accessible by wheelchair.
What items are provided in the guestrooms?
Items including loungewear, bath towels, face towels, toothbrushes, combs, shaving razors, shampoo, conditioner and body soap, are provided.
Can we bring pets?
We cannot accept pets.
When do mealtimes start and finish?
Dinner has two timeslots, which you can choose during check-in: the first opens at 17:30 and closes at 19:30, and the second opens at 19:45 and closes at 21:30. (During busy periods, your desired time may not be available.) You can eat breakfast at any time you like between opening at 7:30 and closing at 10:00. (It may be necessary to wait if all seats are occupied.)
I have a food allergy. Can you provide individual service for me?
All our buffet items are labeled with any allergenic ingredients (consisting of the seven main allergens: egg, flours, cow’s milk, shrimp, crap, peanuts, and soba/buckwheat.). At dinner times, although we cannot provide individually-adapted substitute dishes, we always offer eight to ten dishes that do not include any of the seven main allergens or meat or seafood. As the menu contents differ by season, our staff will provide an explanation on the day. At breakfast times, we can provide dishes that are adapted for allergies.
Do you have a children’s menu?
We do not provide a menu specifically for children. Our buffet cuisine features dishes that can be enjoyed by children, including desserts. We hope that our child guests will enjoy the items they like, in their preferred amounts, from among the same dishes as the adults.
Are the contents of the cuisine always the same?
We offer cuisine that uses fresh ingredients in harmony with the seasons. However, Miyajima specialty produce such as oysters and conger eels are available all year round.
Are private rooms available in the dining area?
The dining area does not feature private rooms.
How long in advance do reservations need to be made?
If vacancies are available, we gladly accept reservations even on the day of your stay.
Is daytime bathing for non-guests available?
Bathing by any persons who are not overnight guests at the hotel is prohibited.
What therapeutic effects does the Komyoseki Hot Spring have?
It is effective for eight ailments including neuralgia, stiff shoulder, hemorrhoids, sensitivity to cold before and after childbirth, rheumatism, sensitivity to cold, lower back pain, and fatigue recovery.
Can you store luggage sent by delivery service?
We accept such luggage at Go Live (the front desk). Please write the date of your stay and the name of a representative of your party on the delivery slip.
Can payment be made by credit card?
We accept the following credit cards: JCB, VISA, MasterCard, American Express, UC, DC, NICOS, Diners, UFJ and Saison.
Is Internet use available?
Wireless LAN/WiFi Internet is available. (Please bring your own device).
Can you send luggage for me?
We offer this service at Go Live, the front desk of the hotel.
